Human Sacrifice | L E G A L | Willing supplicants of the Terren Empire can venture forth to the Holy Domains of the Terrenic pantheon and offer their bodies as conduits of their goddesses power. This act causes the individuals soul to merge with their goddess's domain, destroying their bodies and transforming them into holy spirits. This MUST be done willingly. If the supplicant is not willing the Goddesses won't accept them. |
Homosexuality | L E G A L | Homosexuality is completely legal and socially accepted within the Terren Empire. Homosexual couples are entitled to get married the same as heterosexual couples, and both the law and religion do not differentiate between Homosexual and Heterosexual relationships. |
Rec. Drug Use | L E G A L | Drugs and mind-altering substances are considered legal to use in private recreation, but using mind-altering substances in public and during work is not allowed. |
Gun ownership | L E G A L | Due to the vast array of threats which lurk within both the archipelago and the colonies, all citizens within Terren are required to own weapons in order to defend themselves. |
Freedom of Speech | S E M I L E G A L | There are limits on what speech may be made within Terren. Citizens may not make false statements, spread baseless conspiracy theories, or advocate racist ideologies. Citizens may criticize the government however. |
Freedom of Religion | S E M I L E G A L | Terren is a theocratic state and membership with one of the 2 dominant religions is highly recommended. The level of religious conformity and tolerance is highly dependent on the local lord of the area under the rules of "Whose Realm, Their Religion" |
Freedom of Protest | I L L E G A L | While citizens may criticize about government policies, active public protests are illegal, with peaceful protesting being punishable by fines and violent protests being dispersed with force. Those who engage in violent protests will be arrested and jailed for up to a year. |
Transgenderism | L E G A L | Transgenderism is relatively uncommon within Terren, but completely legally and socially accepted. Current medical science is not developed enough to effectively and safely change a person's sex; however some magical artifacts and spells are able to effectively transition an individual. |
Freedom of the Press | I L L E G A L | Information and news should not be held to the manipulations of capitalism and ideology, and thus the state has undertaken to manage the dissemination of information to prevent false information. |
Smoking | S E M I L E G A L | The smoking of nicotine laced cigars or cigarettes is illegal but specialized cigars have been produced which do not have nearly the same level of risk attached to them are legal to smoke. |
Drinking | L E G A L | Alcohol is completely legal for all citizens over the age of maturity for their species. |
Slavery | S E M I L E G A L | Slavery is currently being phased out across the empire and will soon be completely illegal. |
Artificial Personhood | L E G A L | Any and all artificial beings which demonstrate intelligence/sapience are legally entitled to citizenship rights. |
Immagration | L E G A L | Anyone who comes to Terren may apply for citizenship, though they must undergo a binding ritual to the fatherland in order to finalize this process. |
Emigration | S E M I L E G A L | While citizens may leave Terren for any reason at any time, it is impossible to renounce or lose Imperial citizenship once given, and all Terrens are bound to the Fatherland and must return to its life giving islands or they will slowly wither and die. |
Polygamy | L E G A L | Citizens of Terren may marry as many spouses as they desire. |
Gun Ownership | L E G A L | It is a requirement for all citizens within Terren to own weapons in order to protect themselves and their families from the myriad of threats which roam Terren and its colonies. |
International Trade | S E M I L E G A L | Trade is generally limited to within the bounds of the Terren Archipelago and its colonies, although large amount of foreign aid and support has recently begun flowing out of Terren into the other Order States. |
Compulsorily Organ Harvesting/Cannibalism | L E G A L | Due to the unique dietary restrictions of several of the species within Terren, ethical cannibalism has been legalized within Terren. Thus all citizens within Terren have their blood and organs harvested after death to be used for both medical and dietary purposes. |
Capital Punishment | L E G A L | Citizens found guilty of the most heinous crimes may be sentenced to death. |
Corporal Punishment | L E G A L | Some citizens may be physically punished for their crimes. |
Identification Sigils | L E G A L | Citizens are given special Identification Sigils which allow the government to track their location and vitals, as well as for spellcasters to use emergency Gamma level spells on them through their sigil. |
Prisons | I L L E G A L | Jails may be employed for temporary use, but prisons are viewed as inhumane and unhelpful, thus citizens convicted of crimes may be sent to work of their debts to society in Achtemactide or one of the Imperial Colonies. |
Parental Licensing | L E G A L | Parents must acquire a license from the state to certify that they are capable of meeting a child's emotional, physical and financial needs. |
