"That man is a warlord, a barbarian, a tyrant. To him nothing matters but the end game. He will use any means to accomplish his goal, and he will utilize them to their fullest potential, morals and consequences be damned. When he has a goal, not even the gods can help you if you're in his way. Yet when you are with him, when he looks at you, you feel...seen. He makes you feel like the smartest, most intelligent, most accomplished person in the world, so long as you agree with him that is. When you’re with him, when you’re in his presence, the twisted and savage way he sees things makes perfect sense. When you are with him it seems almost logical to obey his every whim, for how could such a perfect man be wrong. Merely being in that man’s presence is an ordeal, a test of character. A test many have failed so it seems, for nearly every foe that man has ever had now serves him faithfully. Truly there is no one more dangerous in all of the order states than the one who calls himself Luka von Heinrich. I shudder to imagine what would have happened had the demons found him before we did."
-Pope Joan discussing her thoughts on Emperor Luka

Luka von Heinrich I, also known by his nickname of The Terrfather, is the current Emperor of the Terren Dominion, Defender of the Holy League of the Imperial Union of Order States, and the unifier of the Terren Archipelago. His reign has been characterized by the rapid expansion of the Terren Dominions' size and influence on the global stage and the end of Terrenic isolation at the hands of the Terminus Mists. Luka oversaw the creation of the Terren colonial states, convinced the island of Alorian to secede from Coastaria and become a Terren Vassal, and reunited the city of Terrzonia, a city of Terren exiles who managed to escape the mists, with the rest of the empire. Presently Luka is presiding over an empire at the absolute pinnacle of its power, emboldened by the vigor of youth and supported by powerful allies. Luka's grandiose ambitions are not yet fulfilled, and the emperor spends much of his time creating greater plots to expand his people's ever-growing prosperity.

Early Life

Luka's parents were mysterious individuals, who claimed to hail from the city-state of Hazarika and were of noble descent, with his father being directly related to vampire sorcerer-kings that used to rule Hazarika before the time of the Terminus Mists. Luka's parents would eventually move south to the Kingdom of Eliad, settling in a small town called Ihadville where they would have their first and only child, Luka. This village was a very conservative place, yet they held true to the teachings of the Eliadic Cult, and strangers were often treated well, Luka grew up heavily influenced by the teachings of Eliadis.

Luka's father was a powerful hero and adventurer, as well as the leader and founder of an extremist branch of the Eliadic Cult, one that practiced a deeply human supremacist view. His father was driven to fanaticism due to the fact that the woman he loved was killed by feral Beastmen while he was on a quest to overcome the Terminus Mists, a quest he participated in like many heroes before and after him. Luka's ideals are mostly formed as a direct result of his father's extremism and Luka came to believe that the continued conflict between the people of Terren was the main reason the archipelago was still imprisoned within the mists. His father eventually went missing while on a mission to destroy the Terminus Mists and is widely believed to have been killed.

Luka had a much closer relationship with his mother compared to his father. She was a sweet and simple woman, and she tried to live a quiet life and attempted to get her husband to settle down, but she was largely unsuccessful. She was more than she seemed, however, and once her husband disappeared, she seemingly switched her tune and became determined to give Luka everything he would need to become a warrior and leader to surpass her husband, with the hope that maybe he could destroy the Terminus Mists. Her influence was instrumental in allowing Luka to become the warrior he became. But one day, his mother suffered from a deadly disease that the villagers desperately tried to tend to, but their efforts were simply not enough to save her. But just before she died, she begged Luka not to feel angered by her death and asked him to seek out his father and end the Terminus Mists. He was only 12 years old when she died in his arms.

Soon after his mother's death, the now-orphaned Luka began to learn about the world of business from an old, retired adventurer named Lazarentk, who had fought alongside his father and who had become like an uncle to Luka. Surprisingly the plague would eventually lead to a drastic increase in immigration as many individuals sought to commandeer the farmland around Ihadville and the increase of newcomers provided new opportunities. Luka was intelligent and, with the aid of his uncle, quickly began to purchase farmland to rent to intrepid investors and constructed a large inn catering to adventurers. Luka himself was fascinated by the life adventurers lived and would meet frequently with any adventurers or heroes who visited his village and spent much of his time learning how to fight and the secrets of the Terminus Mists.

The Eliadland Crusade

It was when Luka reached his 18th birthday that he would begin to take the first steps towards unifying Terren, triggered by his first encounter with the servants of the Terminus Mists, the Mistwakers, who swept into his village, killing off most of the inhabitants. Luka himself would attempt to fight them off, yet he was hopelessly outnumbered. Yet his efforts managed to delay their assault long enough for a few of the village inhabitants, including his adoptive uncle to escape. However, after these events, Luka became far more determined to bring the assault to the Terminus Mists. Luka proved to be an incredibly charismatic man and would begin to assemble an adventuring party comprised of a few close friends with which he hoped to take the fight to the Terminus Mists.

On the eve of setting out with his small gathering, Luka would visit the church in his village, which had barely survived the Mistwalker's assault, and receive a powerful vision from the goddess Eliadis, his patron, who informed him that his mission would be blessed by her vast power and she granted him the ability to grow far stronger than any human should be capable of as well as promising to grant him a larger amount of her power in his hour of greatest need. She apologized that all she could do was remove his limits instead of empowering him directly, but the goddess's power was limited as she was attempting to keep the mists at bay as much as possible and needed to conserve all the power she could. Luka was honored to have been selected for this mission and promised that he would be successful. Now more determined than ever Luka began his exploration throughout the Kingdom of Eliadis, moving from his isolated village to the south hoping to find the fortress city of Kasarn hoping to recruit more allies and gather more supplies.

On his travels, Luka encountered several gangs of bandits and highwaymen and demonstrated his amazing charisma as he was able to convince some of these criminals to join him and aid in the defense of Terren. Eventually, he reached the city of Kasarn accompanied by a ragtag band of outlaws, criminals, and bandits. Originally the Kasarnians viewed Luka with suspicion, believing he was some bandit captain looking to raid the fortress, and conflict seemed inevitable. However, as Luka was attempting to convince the Kasarnians to allow him within the city, a large band of Mistwalkers assaulted the fortress city. Luka and his companions aided in the defense and his feats of heroism impressed the Kasarnians who eventually agreed to allow him into the city. Once within the city, Luka attempted to recruit more soldiers to his cause but despite his charisma, he was only able to recruit a handful of soldiers. Despite the shortcomings in his recruitment drive Luka was very successful in acquiring new weapons and better armor for his companions. Luka then set out for the capital of the Kingdom of Eliadland, Saint Ealindaesburg. As Luka moved north through the kingdom he visited the city of Harpiengrad, one of the largest villages of harpies in the entirety of Terren. It was here that he discovered how deeply the resentment between the tribes of Terren as both his men and the locals seemed ready to tear each other apart in a single moment and Luka was forced to leave the city almost immediately. As Luka traveled further north he and his companions noted that the land had become corrupted and that it seemed like the entire northern part of the kingdom was nothing more than a wasteland. Believing this to be the work of the Terminus Mists Luka hurriedly ventured north occasionally fighting off attacks by both missed walkers and wild monsters that prowled around the barren wastes. When Luka eventually got to the city he would immediately be granted an audience with Saint-King Peter, the pope and supreme patriarch of the Eliadic Cult. Luka‘s charisma and piety impressed the Saint-King, and he was granted the official support of the crown and was allowed to enlist aid from some of the elite soldiers of the kingdom.

Luka believed firmly in uniting the races and tribes of Terren and now armed with the kings support began working diplomatically with the lords of the different tribes found throughout Eliadland hoping to garner further support against the mists. His efforts would pay off and he was eventually able to gain the trust and support of several of the most powerful leaders on the Island. In particular, he worked with the Harpy Queen Lutrenttinda hoping to build greater trust between harpies and Eliadics to secure the skies. Luka also would venture into the western mountain ranges and reestablish contact with the mining guilds Karazaka. Lukas Fame would spread across the kingdom quickly and eventually, Eliadland would become the most stable of the Terren Islands. Eventually, Luka with the support of a small but diverse army would make his way to Zentral Ostrov, where he would make his way to the Kingdom of Sabafia.

The Liberation of Sabafia

Upon arriving at the port of Safeta Luka and his companions would hear rumors that the king of Sabafia had fallen under the control of the Mistwalkers and was using his power to weaken the kingdom to allow the Terminus Mists to cause greater harm. Luka would venture deeper into the desert realm and would encounter several senior military leaders in the Gold Fortress, who were desperate to regain control of their kingdom. In particular, the assassin lord Purson Mistblade, a Fay from Nostra who had served the king for several years, became a close ally to Luka. Luka and his companions were able to fight their way through the king's remaining loyalist elements and confront him directly. Although the king was empowered by the mists, Luka was able to defeat him, with help from Mistblade. The King was captured alive as Luka hoped that he could be saved. Eventually, after several failed attempts to use Eliadic magics to heal his mind, Luka made the desperate decision to go on a pilgrimage to the Fallen Pyramid, the home of the elemental goddess Gnome.

Luka would negotiate with this powerful goddess for many days before eventually coming to an agreement. Luka would make a contract with the goddess and be granted the power of the land itself, drastically increasing his power as well as allowing him to cure the king's madness, in exchange however, the goddess would observe him on his mission, and he must pray to her as he did to Eliadis. Although Luka was glad to have saved the king and appreciated the power he had gained by having a literal goddess at his side, he was greatly conflicted about worshiping an elemental god, fearing such a thing was heretical and could lose him the support of Eliadis. Luka would be tormented by these fears for several days, before resolving that beating the Terminus Mists was his most important task and that worshiping an elemental goddess would be a small price to pay.

Upon his return, Luka used the power of the elemental Goddess to free the mind of the king, releasing him from the mist's control. The king was extremely grateful upon his return to sanity but quickly lamented at the damage he had caused to his own countrymen. King Phoenix requested that Luka venture into the western ocean as his actions had damaged relations with the underwater City-States of the Karibdi. The Karibdi trading vessels had been destroyed during the king's mad spree and as a result, they had become insular, and the king feared that without their support the Sabasfan economy, already fragile due to his actions, would collapse.

Luka agreed to help and was given a Sabasfan ship and sailed west. Luka was unsure how he would reach an underwater city, but the problem solved itself as several Karibdi met his ship as soon as he had passed over the city of Oceangrad. Luka and several of his soldiers were taken below the sea and into the halls of the massive underwater city. While there Luka would meet Sir. Edmund Maria Blackwell was a brilliant scientist who had risen to become the leader of the City-State of Oceangrad. Luka explained what had happened to King Phoenix and how he had managed to free Sabafia from the control of the Terminus Mists. Blackwell believed him, having come to a similar conclusion himself, and told Luka to inform the king that trade would resume. Luka then attempted to gather allies from amongst the Karibdi and was successful, not only with the Karibdi warriors who rallied to his cause but also with merchants of the Karibdi trading guild who saw accompanying Luka as a great way to increase their financial holdings across the world.

When Luka returned to Sabafia with a promise that the Karibdi would continue trade as well as several Karibdi companions he found himself hailed as a hero by both the King and the general populace, and a magnificent feast was thrown in his honor. Luka would meet with several members of the Sabafian royalty and would secure larger amounts of funding for his future missions. With funding secured and his companions amassed into a small army, Luka decided that his next destination would be the kingdom of Nostra.

Venture through Nostra

After a brief visit to confirm the support of Saint Ealindaesburg, Luka decided that his next destination would be the kingdom of Nostra, as Nostra was famous for being the most diverse kingdom in Terren, with multiple races and tribes inhabiting its borders. Luka hoped to gain the support of members of the powerful Slime race, gelatinous creatures capable of incredible acts of healing. Upon sailing to the Sacred Springs Luka found himself barred from entering, as the Slime race was incredibly isolationist, and they could tell that Luka was of Hazarikan descent. Luka attempted to convince them of his intentions, but his Karibdi allies were the ones who convinced the Slimes to allow him entrance as the two races had a long history. Luka entered the springs only to find that the Terminus Mists had corrupted the springs to the extent that the Slimes had been forced to seal off entire sections of the springs. Luka gathered his tiny army and offered to clear out the corrupted springs. The Slimes believed this was absurd but allowed him to enter claiming that he could not make the situation any worse. Luka was successful in clearing out the corrupted springs one at a time, and during his mission, he found several Slimes hidden and trapped. They were grateful to him, and Luka found his ranks grow with several Slimes joining his cause. When he emerged into the central springs the Slimes were stunned that he had not only survived but saved some of their kin. Luka was hailed as a hero, and the leader of the Slimes, Queen Cassandra, actually pledged to follow him.

Luka would then venture to Pentagrad on his way to Nostra. While resting in the city he would discover that the village had been raided by the normally pacifistic Fay and that the Fay had apparently been unpossessed by the Mists. Luka was fascinated by this and set out into the Forest of Spirits, to a place known as the Throne of the Wind God. Upon arriving he would meet a powerful Fay known as Ualak, who would test him by manipulating his senses hoping to cause Luka to get lost in the forest. Yet Luka was able to keep his calm and instead of playing along with her game, he instead attempted to convince her of his peaceful intentions. Eventually, he got through to her when he claimed he was there to help the villagers she had raided. This confused her, and she freed him. It was revealed that she had not acted maliciously instead she had only been playing pranks on the village, taking their food and vandalizing their homes in jest. Luka explained to her the difficulty the people were already enduring and how her actions had caused them to suffer even more. Ualak was taken aback by this revelation and pledged to accompany Luka and his forces with a few of her allies in order to attempt to make up for the harm she had caused.

Luka would eventually enter the city of Nostra, where he was given a hero's welcome as many had heard of this mysterious hero who was bringing the realms together. He was able to enter the capital building of Nostra almost immediately and the Queen swiftly offered her support to his cause however, she had some conditions. Queen Amphradosia explained that her coastal towns were being raided by splinter fleets of the Independent Armadas. The Independent Armada of Terren was a very powerful force throughout much of the archipelago's history and they had never aligned themselves with any state or tribe, claiming to be peacekeepers, although in practice often acted more as pirates than as enforcers of the law. The Independent Armada had once been unified but had long ago split into splinter fleets some of which had begun to raid different ports across Nostra seizing riches and burning down private property. The queen requested that Luka bring the pirates to heal, and she would offer support to his growing army in return. Luka and his forces would commandeer a small fleet of merchant galleons and set off to confront the pirates and in the process gain his first experience in naval combat, something that would stick with him for the rest of his life.

Luka's efforts in combating the rogue vessels would earn him the loyalty and support of not only the Nostrian people but also the support and ships of several of the leaders of the splinter fleets, who were happy to have their rebellious elements brought under control. Now with three kingdoms' support as well as a variety of tribes and the aid of the several splinter fleets of ships, Luka felt confident about his position and entered Haltengeld hoping that they would be as cooperative and peaceful as the other nations had been. Unfortunately for him, this would not be the case.

The Haltengeld Campaign

Haltengeld had developed a powerful military tradition from years of being on the front lines against the Mistwalkers that poured from Gehinnom, and were fiercely independent, viewing the southern kingdoms as weak and ineffectual. Luka himself was not welcomed within their borders as most of them were able to tell that Luka was Hazarikan himself and believed that he was a spy of the Mists who had arrived to sabotage and weaken their power.

However, the goddess Gnome who had been accompanying Luka and granting him power informed him that Haltengeld was a deeply religious kingdom, that believed very firmly in Elemental Orthodoxy. If he could garner the support of the other elemental gods, it would go a long way to earning their trust. Knowing that he needed the support of all of Terren and see no alternatives Luka agreed and was sent back north to visit the Sacred Springs home to the goddess of water. When he met her, she was jaded and viewed his presence as an incursion. The goddess of water Undine disliked mortals in general and humans in particular due to their destructive attitude, and irreverence for nature. Although she was skeptical of Luka at first, he was able to convince her that destroying the Terminus Mists was vital to protecting all of nature and that although she may not like humanity it would be better to work with them to overcome a mutual threat and teach them how to respect nature than it would be to allow them to be destroyed, bringing nature down with them. His slime companions were vocal in their support, and they proved decisive in the goddess's decision. The goddess eventually acquiesced and granted Luka her power allowing him to become even more powerful than before. Next Luka and a cabal of his closest supporters would venture to the forest of spirits where he would seek out the strength and power of the wind goddess Sylph. The wind goddess was playful but deeply intelligent and unlike her sister Undine, she was swift to grant Luka her power as she understood the danger of the Terminus Mists and knew full well that Luka was perhaps the only one who could prevent the mists from swallowing up the entirety of the Terren Archipelago.

Armed with the power of three elemental goddesses and the support of a now powerful army, Luka returned to Haltengeld expecting further resistance, however upon arriving he found the kingdom in disarray. Demons had seized control of the western half of the kingdom, and Insectoids were pouring in from the Inarishima Peninsula, a province that was theoretically a province of Nostra but was in actuality independent. Luka suspected that Mistwalkers were responsible for the chaos, but he knew he needed to act quickly to prevent the bastion of the north from falling. He first moved to secure the capital from the Insectoids with the aid of the Haltengeld Dragon Riders. After the brutal battle of Haltengeld, Luka and his forces moved into the Inarishima Peninsula and attempted to figure out what caused the Insectoids to attack. It was found that the mists had corrupted several of the powerful leaders on the peninsula and caused them to begin warring with each other and their neighbors. Luka fought his way down the peninsula liberating as many towns as possible and gaining the support of many powerful Eastern warriors. Luka's vast charisma also aided him as he was able to convince some of the more powerful Insectoid leaders to join him and help bring peace back to the Peninsula. While working with the Insectoid lords not corrupted by the mists, he would meet Königin Spinne an ambitious young lord who Luka would aid in acquiring the position of Queen of the Insectoids. With this new Queen on his side, Luka was able to restore order to the Inarishima Peninsula within a few weeks.

Once the Inarishima Peninsula had been reconquered and stabilized Luka returned to Haltengeld, where the Orthodox Saint King Darius, who had come to trust Luka thanks to his efforts and charisma, revealed the secret location of the Fortress of Salamanders, where the fire goddess resided, allowing Luka to go to her to receive her power, but in exchange, the Darius wished to be allowed to accompany him on his pilgrimage. Luka agreed and would have his army set up camp outside the city in case any new enemies attempted to strike at Haltengeld in his and the king's absence. The two men would venture through the mountains for a week before finding the fortress where they would meet the fire goddess Indgodindesu. The goddess was fascinated by Luka, as he had already acquired the power of her sister goddesses and she proposed a bargain, saying that she would deem him worthy of her own power if he could forge a weapon that impressed her. Luka would begin his work and using the great power of the 3 elemental goddesses he had already been blessed by was able to forge a sword over 3 long days. When completed that blade was said to be capable of slicing through mountains like nothing. This blade was enough to impress the fire goddess who would add her own blessing both to the blade and to Luka himself.

Now armed with the power of the entire pantheon of elemental gods, and a powerful customized sword Luka returned with Darius to Haltengeld and his awaiting army. The king of Haltengeld would officially offer Luka’s army his support however he requested that Luka bring the western half of his kingdom back under control as Haltengeld could not spare any soldiers to reclaim the rebellious provinces. Luka agreed and took his army westward where he would encounter a powerful demonic presence who had seized control of western Haltengeld. Luka began besieging the city of Cassandria and was surprised to find that the population was siding with the demonic forces. Believing them to be corrupted Luka attempted to use the power Eliadis to cleanse them yet found that his efforts had no effect. It was eventually revealed that the demons had been protecting these lands for a long time and that they had only been a part of Haltengeld for military support. Now that Haltengeld was no longer able to protect them the demons had decided now was the time to become independent.

Luka was shocked by this revelation, as although he had recently become much closer to the elemental gods, he was still a devout follower of the Eliadic Cult, which taught that all demons were corruptive evils, on par with or worse than the Terminus Mists themselves. To find demons actively working to aid people and administer a realm was a shocking thing to Luka, but despite his internal conflict he would eventually attempt to use diplomacy to end the conflict, requesting that the demons join his cause and end their assaults upon Haltengeld in exchange for protection. The demons agreed and a large number of them joined Luka’s ranks impressed by his power and charisma. With the conflict in Haltengeld resolved Luka turned his attention to the Black Island of Terren, Gehinnom.

The Islands of Gehinnom and Valheaven

Luka and his army arrived on the Island to find it flooded with a strange mix of dark energy and Mist. The Sorcerer-Kings of Ancient Hazarika had been the ones who attempted to harness the Terminus Mists in the first place and as such the Mists' power and corruption were at their highest here. Luka would make contact with the city of Arfentar, one of the 3 City-States that still remained on the Island, and explain his cause to them. They agreed to help him, in his quest but informed him that even with his army, he would not stand a chance against Hazarika. The city of Arfentar itself had suffered the most from the Mists incursions, but they had one advantage they could lend Luka, Demonologists. It was from these dark sorcerers that Luka would become aware of the power to bind feral demons to one's will using dark sorcery. His Demonic allies were surprisingly extremely welcoming of the Demonologists, and when pressed as to why they were not bothered by seeing their kin as little more than glorified slaves, it was revealed that the feral Demons summoned by Demonologists were comprised of traitors and heretics and their servitude to demonologists was a fitting punishment in the eyes of Luka's demonic companions.

Luka and his army would then venture further and find the city of Tusreliquiae. It was here that Luka would find the Shrine of the dark goddess Elisfizz. Luka would pay homage at the shrine, as Elisfizz was an Eliadic God and Luka felt it necessary to make up for his fraternization with the Elemental Gods. It was during this homage that Luka would be shown more of his past via a powerful vision sent by Elisfizz, including the fact that his parents had lived in Hazarika, and more shockingly, that Luka himself was a descendant of the ancient Sorcerer-Kings. Luka was shocked and a little horrified at these revelations yet resolved that it would be his duty to overcome the Terminus Mists to make up for his ancestors' mistakes. Luka wished to march on Hazarika right away, but a young and brilliant nobleman from Arfentar, named Elias Raven would meet with Luka and counsel him against a frontal assault. Elias would stress that Hazarika was still impenetrable from attack due to the Terminus Mists' power and that Luka would need a way to temporarily weaken the mists before attacking.

In order to weaken the Terminus Mists, Luka decided to venture to the northernmost island in the archipelago, Valheaven. Valheaven was a frigid land of ice, and was the complete opposite of Gehinnom, being filled with Holy Energy and considered to be the holy land of the Eliadic Cult. When Luka first arrived on the island he immediately realized that it would be difficult to transport the entirety of his forces as the island was both extremely cold and extremely inhospitable to most non-human races, particularly the Haltengelder Demons. Luka decided to only use a small amount of his forces and organized an expedition to Iliadstantinople, hoping to make contact with the island's rulers. Luka and his small expedition made it to the large city with only minor difficulties having to fend off feral Beastmen raids. Upon arriving at the city, Luka and his forces discovered that the population of Iliadstantinople was comprised entirely of Angels and Beastmen. Luka would venture to the city and with Elias‘s guidance meet with the council of angels that reigned over the island. He explained to them his goal in visiting their homeland, stating that he desired to weaken the power of the Terminus Mists and free Terren of their influence once and for all.

The Angels were impressed by Luka’s rhetoric and ability but were distrustful of him as they could sense the bargain he had struck with the elemental Gods and believed him to be a member of the Elemental Orthodoxy. Luka attempted to explain that his loyalty was in fact to the Eliadic Cult, and that he had only made the bargain with the elemental Gods in exchange for power, but the angels did not believe him. They did however declare that he would be allowed to visit the Tower of Babel and use its holy magics to temporarily sunder the mists around Hazarika. Luka and his expedition were escorted to the mountains by several elite angel warriors. However, as they were preparing to embark into the mountains they were ambushed by a group of Angels who seemingly fought with the power of Terminus Mists. Luka and his expedition aided the angels in defeating this mysterious threat, yeah Luka and his men were shaken as it was widely believed that angels were completely incapable of being corrupted by the mists.

The elite angels who had been sent to escort Luka to the Tower of Babel refused to inform him as to what those angels were and how they had been corrupted by the mists, claiming that it was not his concern and that the Angelic Council had everything under control. This was proven to be false however when the group arrived at the tower, finding the great courtyard at its base had been completely occupied by the mysterious fallen angels. The Fallen angels attempted to convince Luka, his expedition, and the angels guarding him to join them. Luka and his followers were quick to refuse and prepared for combat only to find that some of the angels escorting them seemingly had fallen almost instantaneously. Luka was forced to use the power of the elemental gods to fight the fallen in a brutal battle. Luka and his forces were able to eventually overwhelm the fallen as although they were fewer in number each one of Luka‘s companions was an extremely elite warrior.

The few angels who had not fallen informed Luka what had actually occurred explaining that angels were beings created by the power of their gods and their gods were created by the Energy mortals naturally admitted with their thoughts and beliefs. The Gods were incorruptible by the mist because they were the embodiment of what each and every one of their followers believed them to be, which allowed them to be unchangeable by outside influence, however, angels were only offshoots of their Gods and as such could be manipulated and corrupted. The reason the angels accompanying Luka had fallen so quickly was that the land itself was saturated with corruptive power and that it only took a tiny bit of persuasion to lead weaker willed angels into damnation. Luka was horrified by this revelation, but promised that it was his responsibility as a servant of Eliadis to aid the Angels in anyway he could.

Luka and his forces then began to send the tower hoping to reach the top floor and use the great beacon of light located there to clear out the Mists around Hazarika hoping that the light emanated by the tower would be enough to pierce the Terminus Mists and make the city reachable. Yet unfortunately upon reaching the top of the tower it was discovered that the fallen angels had sabotaged the beacon by removing its core. Luka realized that the fallen angels must have taken the core with them hoping to prevent Luka from piercing the mists. Luka realized it was exceedingly probable that the fallen angels would have taken the core to Nazarith and would be guarding it with a massive force. Luka knew that the fallen angels hoped to provoke him into open combat supported by some of the Angels. Luka was pragmatic however and realized that he had the perfect ally who could infiltrate the city and retrieve the core without provoking the force of fallen angels. Purson Mistblade was the absolute perfect agent to perform this mission. He was able to swiftly infiltrate the city, steal the core and return to Luka at the Tower of Babel in less than one day without any of the fallen even realizing it happened.

Luka then briefly ventured back to Iliadstantinople and informed the angelic council of his plan and petitioned them for aid in his attack on Hazarika. The angelic counsel would make it clear that they would help but were fearful of deploying their forces into the battle of Hazarika as the fallen could use the armies absence as an opportunity to attack. Luka would have an idea on how to solve this dilemma however, as he believed that using the beacon of babel would be able to cleanse the fallen angels. The council was skeptical but they allowed Luka to do as he pleased, claiming that he couldn’t really make it worse.

Luka would venture to the top of the Tower of Babel and with the beacon's core and restore its power before sending large amounts of holy energy upon both Nazarith and Hazarika. As Luka had hoped, the holy energy was in fact able to overcome the power of the Terminus Mists in both the angels and within Hazarika. Luka quickly returned to Iliadstantinople and revealed that he had been able to save the fallen angels. The council was shocked Titus and true to their end of the bargain quickly levied a large force of angels and pledged them to Luka service. Among these many were the formally fallen angels who sought revenge for what they had suffered under the influence of the Mists. Finally, Luka, supported by a large army, backed by every kingdom and tribe on Terren made ready to assault the city of Hazarika, where the mists originated.

The Siege of Hazarika

The city itself was deeply corrupted and Luka’s army was met with fierce resistance, the defenders empowered and corrupted by the power of the mists. Luka’ forces would be besiege the city, if they knew that they had to attack swiftly for if they waited too long the mists would re-close in on the city and assault would become impossible once more. After four desperate pushes, Luka rallied his forces and led an assault that would break the walls and Luka and his men fight through to the central palace in the middle of the city hoping to find the source of the mists. Luka himself became a terrifying force on the battlefield, empowered by the elemental gods and wielding a sword of immense power. Luka would break from his soldiers and was able to break into the palace where he was confronted by a mighty liche-sorcerer known as Claudius Savas Semka, who had become possessed by the very embodiment of the Terminus Mists, transforming him into a being beyond most gods. Luka and this sorcerer clashed in a contest of power so potent that the fabric of reality around them began to bend and twist. Luka was powerful, yet the possessed sorcerer was starting to slowly overpower him, until Luka cried out to his patron Eliadis for her support. His prayer was answered 2-fold as Eliadis was not the only god to answer his prayer, as Eliadis’s sister Elisfizz answered his call as well, Having been impressed that he had taken the time to honor for shrine when he first visited the Black Island. This surge of power saw Luka ascend to become the embodiment of six gods, and in a single moment he became the physical manifestation of all divinity within Terren, and with this he was able to overcome the possessed sorcerer and break the power of the Mists over his mind.

The sorcerer was immensely remorseful for his actions upon being released from the Mists, and it was revealed that he had been attempting to call the mists into himself as a way of preventing them from continuing to terrorize Terren, yet his will had faltered, and he had become possessed by their power. Luka was amazed that this man had attempted to assume the burden of controlling the Mists by himself and spared his life. Luka expected the power he had received from the gods to dissipate now that the battle was over, yet instead they made an unthinkable choice. The Goddesses directly empowered his soul with shards of their very essence, transforming Luka into a living manifestation of the pantheons collective will.

When Luka and Claudius emerged from the palace, they found that the city was a bloody wreck, and that only about 400 soldiers of Luka’s Mighty army remained. Although the cost was high his warriors celebrated their victory for a long last the power of the Mists had finally been shattered and Terren was free.

The Era of Reconstruction and Formation of the Terren Dominion

With the Mists vessel broken, Terren was at last freed from the Terminus Mists influence. Luka found himself the embodiment of the entire Terren Pantheon, a beloved hero to the people, and the most influential man in all the Islands. Luka originally intended to venture across the archipelago to ensure that society would reforge itself without the intense pressure of the Terminus Mists, before finally returning to Ihadville and settling down. Yet the unending siege of the mists had left Terren devastated and during his travels Luka found himself continually lobbied by the leaders of the tribes and kingdoms across Terren each requesting his aid in a variety of major and minor matters. Luka worked hard, hopping from kingdom to kingdom desperately trying to create stability and prosperity. As he worked, Luka proved himself to be an amazing statesman, and was frequently approached by a variety of organizations desiring his leadership.

Overtime certain individuals began calling for the unification of the Terren Kingdoms under a single ruler, and no one was under any illusions about who this leader would be. Luka was initially very skeptical of these ideas, fearing that such a unification might lead to far more trouble than it was worth. However, this hesitancy would swiftly change when Nostrian merchants discovered land to the west, shattering the long-held belief that the archipelago was the only thing that existed in the world. News of new lands and new civilizations beyond Terrens boarders generated immense fear within Terren and the clamor for unification became undeniable. Queen Amphradosia and Kind Darius are credited with being the ones who finally convinced Luka to take up the mantle of Emperor, so that the Terren people could face whatever exists beyond its borders as a unified force. On Norvonmbkov 1st 1437, in the Grand Cathedral of Chorhaltov in the presence of the Goddesses themselves and all the Kings and Queens of Terren Luka was coronated as Emperor Luka von Heinrich I.

Upon the creation of this new Pan-Terrenic empire, Luka immediately set to the task of nation building. He ordered the construction of the city of Grand Chorhaltov, which would serve as the capital of this new Terren state. The city was built rapidly, and Luka would move the vast majority of his operations there. Luka then turned his attention to vast reformation projects, desiring to transform his primitive collection of tribes into a true superpower. Luka began to implement sweeping reforms to education and welfare, established a capable police force in order to eliminate crime, codified the legal system into one coherent book of law, and forged the Hoftag to serve as a governmental body which over saw day to day ruling so that Luka could focus on his other projects. During this time Luka would meet a brilliant man named Nindtorior Testia, who would convince the emperor to support and subsidize rapid industrialization. Industrialization was a huge success, diversifying the empire's economy in ways never before imagined. Yet the Plantae and Slime folk quickly began to fret over the environmental impact of these advances and begged the emperor to find a solution. What he came up with was nothing short of insane. Luka would work closely with a massive number of Orthodox Shamans and Patriarchs as well as Ghodnormea herself in order to forge an entirely new continent, one which would be Soley dedicated to industrial possesses. The resulting creation was Achtemactide, an Island of fire and rock, dedicated to supporting Terren manufactories and forges. In order to connect his empire further, Luka established massive networks of public transportation, using magics and new technology to create a vast network of trains and roads to connect the empires towns and cities. Finally, Luka reformed the military, introducing conscription, standardized State Troops and creating a distinct separation between his Soul-Bound Racial Legions and the Realm Guard. He also divided the mighty Independent Armadas into specialized directional fleets, commanded by admirals he specifically selected.

Luka’s reforms were incredibly successful and transformed the archipelago from a backwards collection of primitive tribes and kingdoms into a progressive, industrialized, and unified empire with himself at its center.

Terren's Colonial Age

During Luka's work on creating a real nation out of Terren merchants and adventurers had been exploring the new world which had recently been opened up to them. Terrens first exploratory missions ventured out to the West, where they would discover vast uncharted, untamed lands filled with many untapped resources. Emperor Luka would grant charters of colonization to 4 powerful nobles and tasked them with creating colonies on these new lands. These colonies were incredibly successful and began sending the materials of raw production back to the Terren Archipelago helping to fuel its ravenous economy. Luka was immensely pleased with the success of these colonies and began to encourage citizens of Terren to venture out to the colonies to expand the power and glory of Terren. The western colonies developed rapidly until they made a horrifying discovery. Mistwalkers had been found on this new land, which led to one terrible truth. The Mistwalkers had not come from the Terminus Mists, they had merely been using it as a staging ground to attack Terren. The implications of this where terrifying for the new government, and Luka immediately order research into a means of finding and destroying the Mistwalkers.

It was around the time of this discovery that the newly formed empire would make contact with the Theocracy of the Chief Goddess and the rest of the Realms of Man. Initially the Realms of Man were suspicious of Terren, for although humanity was the dominant species within the new empire Terren was unquestionably not a human nation. Nevertheless, Luka's charisma saved the day, and he managed to charm and woo the lords of the Realms of Man and soon Terren was admitted to the Imperial Union of Order States.

As Luka learned more about the world, his expansionism increased as well and he began sending explorers to discover new lands and uninhabited territories to expand his dominion, and would grant 2 more charters to Terren Nobles, who would establish 2 more colonies, and while both were slightly less successful than their western predecessors in terms of production, the lands they discovered where lush, vibrant and extremely dangerous, and the Terren colonists struggled to create a solid foothold. Eventually these colonies would become training grounds for the Terren Military, in particular the Legions and their location allowed for the opening of diplomacy with the empires of the Far East, which led to the creation of a friendly rivalry with a Celestial Dragon Empire.

The Free Cities of Terren

It was also around this time that Imperial Merchants would discover the city state of Terrzonia, an enclave which had managed to flee from the terminus mists many years before Luka's birth. They had braved the terrors of the mists and unlike the many who had tried before them they managed to break through and establish a small city-state in Carrune. Upon discovering their ancestral homeland was now a unified and powerful empire, the people of Terrzonia would send a large number of positions to the emperor asking to be incorporated into the nation of their ancestors. Emperor Luka and King Aramdia would come to an agreement in which Terren paid large reparations to Carrune, and Carrune would acknowledge Terrzonia as a sovereign Free City of Terren.

A couple months after this deal was struck the island nation of Costaria located below the Terren Archipelago erupted into civil war. Pirates and warlords across the islands began fighting each other and even began attacking Terren ships which came too close to the islands. Enraged Luka would send Admiral Maximus Blackline and the Southern Colonial Fleet to pacify the Islands. This war was far greater a challenge then expected due to the interference of The Royal Demon Realm. Eventually at the climax of the war, Costaria split in 2, with all but the largest island, Port Alorian, joining the The Royal Demon Realm. Port Alorian would officially secede from Costaria and became the second of the Free Cities of Terren.

Personality

Luka’s most defining traits are his insane charisma, realistic optimism, compassion, intelligence, and Machiavellian tendencies. He likes to way the risks and rewards of every possible action, usually requesting his advisors to explain every single detail of a problem to him before he makes a decision. Once he has chosen a course however he will act decisively and see it through to the end. He has stated that he would rather pay the price for overambition than excessive sloth. He believes in the coexistence and unity between the many races of the world and wants to see a world where all peoples can stand together. This has actually earned him the ire of several other human leaders, although he will appease them by stating that he of course holds his own flesh and blood first and foremost. He is famously charismatic and has demonstrated the ability to sway almost anyone to his will with enough time. He has the insanely broken ability to understand and recognize the intentions of everyone he meets, allowing him to play to their deepest desires. Even though he much prefers playing the role of statesman, Luka is at heart a warrior and when diplomacy and reasoning fails, he will never hesitate to lead his armies from the front to crush those that oppose him.

Luka's Personal Life and Marriage to Franziska

As Luka's empire expanded, he found himself pressured by several of his closest advisors to marry and have children. Luka was immensely skeptical, he had very little interest in marriage, and in romance in general. However, after constant badgering from his advisors and frequent letters from powerful nobles offering their daughters hands in marriage, Luka decided that he should do something to settle the issue if only to calm the nobles. Luka appointed a committee of political strategists, trusted nobles, and loyal statesmen to sift through potential candidates. This committee became jokingly known as the Amorrat, or love council. His criteria to the Amorrat were pretty simple:
    [1]They had to be willing
[2]They had to be politically expedient
[3]They could not be High Lord

His reasoning behind this last rule was pretty simple. Marring one of the high lords would increase the prestige of that kingdom at the expense of all others, something which could breed malcontent and jealousy which he did not want to deal with. After a while one candidate became completely obvious: Franziska von Brennenden Schwarzen Strauß. She was brilliant, dynamic, influential, independent, and the scion of an immensely powerful alliance of nobles. This alliance was perhaps the second most powerful group in the empire behind Luka's Hoftag, and the only real part of Terren which Luka did not absolutely dominate. This alliance had been supporting Luka's crusade from the sidelines for some time, but Luka and Franziska had never meet, even after Luka was coronated. Just as Luka was being pressured to marry by his advisors, so too was she being pushed by her mother. At the Amorrats suggestion Luka and Franziska would meet with each other and decide to a tactful alliance. Their marriage would further solidify both their positions and the internal unity of the empire, and the benefits to both of them were immense. Their marriage was a huge spectacle. Nobles from across the empire flocked to the nascent Chorhaltov and spent tremendous amount of money on wedding gifts for the newlywed royal couple. As they exchanged rings and vows, Franziska would take the name von Heinrich and officially found the House of Heinrich.

Franziska von Heinrich

The start of their relationship was...rocky. Franziska was not particularly happy that she had been forced to marry a man she barely knew, and Luka was far more interested in ruling the empire rather than engaging in romance with his new wife. For some time, they remained basically separated, sleeping in separate rooms, and barely interacting. Their relationship was at times even openly hostile, with Franziska calling Luka "The Foolish Idiot King" and Luka referring to Franziska as "The Foul Echidna". This hostility was mostly empty however and they continued to work and plot separately, but overtime they became more used to each other. Their relationship would remain in this state for some time, with neither of them paying each other any mind. However, this would change when Franziskas mother died unexpectedly due to a mysterious illness. Franziska had been very close to her mother and was devastated, and the empress would enter a terrible depression, some have even claimed that her sobbing and weeping could be heard throughout the halls of Castle Morriganheim. Emperor Luka felt for her, having experienced all too well the pain of losing his mother unexpectedly to disease as well. He would attempt to comfort Franziska, telling her about his own loss, and attempting to help her to process her pain with him. During this time, the two would warm up to each other substantially, and as Franziska began to recover from her loss, the emperor and empress found themselves growing closer and closer. As they got to know each other better, they began to bond over shared interests and even introduced each other to new hobbies. Over time their marriage slowly but surely transitioned from a political alliance to genuine affection, to the point that Franziska even began referring to Luka not as the "The Foolish Idiot King", but as "My Foolish Idiot King". When this change is pointed out to her, Franziska becomes flustered and pretends like it doesn't mean anything.

It was around the time of this growing attraction that Franziska would become pregnant and would eventually give birth to the first of her and Lukas many children, Typhon and Alice. Franziska had an incredibly unique ability which allowed her to alter the genetic structure of her children even going so far as being able to change their species. As a result, she and Luka would have an insane 15 children together, their races and appearances varying wildly, with Luka sometimes joking that he had "1 child for every kingdom in the empire". In the present-day Luka and Franziska are inseparable, and those close to the royal family have noticed that they both react strongly when separated for long periods of time. Luka becomes extremely hyperactive and chaotic, and Franziska becomes harsh and moody the longer they are apart from each other. this has led to a fair bit of lighthearted teasing from those close to the couple, although they both refuse to actually acknowledge how close they actually are. Although they have become far more romantically attached as of late, they both still pretend to dislike each other, fooling absolutely no one but themselves.
