The Federal Republic of Sultan is a very large, efficient nation, renowned for its ubiquitous missile silos, otherworldly petting zoo, and public floggings. The hard-working, democratic population of 162 million Sultanians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The relatively small, outspoken government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Industry, Administration, and Education also on the agenda, while International Aid and Environment aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.6%.

The powerhouse Sultanian economy, worth 13.3 trillion Rupees a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Gambling. Average income is 82,350 Rupees, with the richest citizens earning 7.2 times as much as the poorest.

Consumption of cat memes has skyrocketed, the Museum of Blackacrean War Crimes is located on "Blackacre Did Nothing Wrong Avenue", giggling elementary school newspaper reporters want to know why Leader is a silly poophead, and a government program is underway to revitalize Sultan's beaches. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent. Sultan's national animal is the Sultan Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

Sultan is ranked 219,555th in the world and 8,321st in the South Pacific for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 9.65 Effective Tax Rate.
