The Survivors of NezuShi is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Safu with an iron fist, and renowned for its aversion to nipples, pith helmet sales, and prohibition of alcohol. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 7.494 billion NezuShians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of No 6. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 84.1%.
The frighteningly efficient NezuShian economy, worth a remarkable 1,326 trillion yen a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Retail. Black market activity is rampant. Average income is an impressive 177,024 yen, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 826,251 per year while the poor average 22,702, a ratio of 36.4 to 1.
Veterans' meet-ups involve a lot of tail sniffing, Safu is refusing to make decisions until the Moon is out of Capricorn, history textbook pages are used as impromptu tissues by distraught students, and scientists spend more time enduring government inspections than they do on actual science. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. NezuShi's national animal is the rat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Cards.
NezuShi is ranked 35,696th in the world and 17th in Temporary Home for Most Stationary, with 1,268.88215319268 days.
