The Republic of Hospitatia is a colossal, orderly nation, renowned for its infamous sell-swords, smutty television, and rampant corporate plagiarism. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 8.003 billion Hospitatians are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Healthcare, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 92.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Hospitatian economy, worth a remarkable 1,733 trillion currencies a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity. The industrial sector is mostly comprised of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an amazing 216,580 currencies, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

Artists regularly face criminal charges and art-burning parties are common, Hospitatians must literally pay their respects to hear from their political representatives, the government is telling wizards to put their heart into their work, and blue sky thinkers are reminded that the firmament is actually more of a grey-ish colour. Crime is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Hospitatia's national animal is the animal, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Hospitatia is ranked 328,922nd in the world and 12th in Vickenian experiment containment zone for Largest Automobile Manufacturing Sector, scoring -18.97 on the Henry Ford Productivity Index.
