The Federal Republic of Eurgia is a huge, orderly nation, notable for its frequent executions, public floggings, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 307 million Eurgians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Orelburg. The average income tax rate is 65.0%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Eurgian economy, worth 35.8 trillion rubles a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 116,597 rubles, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.6 times as much as the poorest.

Virtually all of the country's economic activity takes place in Orelburg, minor parties are virtually absent in Parliament, the military has forsaken terrestrial warfare, and it is a silent spring in Eurgia. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Eurgia's national animal is the eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

Eurgia is ranked 45,539th in the world and 1,133rd in The North Pacific for Largest Governments, scoring 23.3 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
